Our students have been participating in the Master Speller Competition for the past six years. They have gone through many rounds and reached the quarter final. This year (2019) twenty students participated in the first round which was followed by a third round held in Ampara. Four students were selected for the fourth round which was held in Colombo. Finally two of them, Miss.Aara Nawas and Ilma Moulana have been selected to compete with 100 students which will be held in March. Wr hope and pray that they wil reach the final round.

The English Club aims to provide students with more exposure to English through an English language environment that will familiarize students with various language skills and functions. It also aims to create an English-rich environment in school through various activities throughout the school year. Activities include Essay writing competitions, translations, English week, festive celebrations, film/video shows, song dedications and other language games.

Objectives:

1. To help students to acquire the 4 basic skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking for developing proficiency in English.

2. To help students cultivate the habit of self-learning in learning the English language.

3. To create an environment conducive to English learning in school.

4. To promote learning of English through various activities and exposure to English, so that students can enjoy a better communication with the outside world.
